BENGALURU: New Year’s Eve is just hours away, and the Bengaluru police have made arrangements for a safe celebration. While public parties are allowed, apartment residents are restricted from hosting rooftop parties due to safety concerns.

A notice has been issued to apartment residents with rules to be followed — rooftop gates must be closed from 8 pm on December 31 to 6 am on January 1, and security personnel must be deployed to prevent access. Those who violate these rules and cause accidents will face legal action.

Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh stated that around four lakh people are expected to gather at MG Road and Brigade Road, while approximately 10 lakh people are expected across Bengaluru for New Year’s Eve celebrations. “We have made arrangements for security and ensured that there are no issues anywhere”, he said.
