BENGALURU: Due to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, the state government has decided not to grant leave to police personnel, said Home Minister G Parameshwara.
“Until the Centre gives a green signal, we will not grant leave to our police personnel. This is a sensitive time and we need to be prepared to face any situation. We have increased security measures in coastal areas and will provide security wherever necessary”, he said.
The minister further stated that the Centre will inform the state government if any additional security measures are required at the borders. “We are ready to face any situation. There is no leave for police personnel during this time. The country is on high alert due to the border tensions and the Centre has alerted all states”, he said.
Parameshwara also mentioned that a meeting will be held to discuss measures to stock up on essential items like water, food, and other necessities in case of a war. “The meeting will involve the Revenue, Home and other departments. We will discuss any instructions received from the Centre and take necessary actions”, he added.
