BENGALURU: The state health department clarified reports regarding CT scans and MRI services suspended in 14 district hospitals stating that they are far from the truth.
The Health Department has denied media reports that CT scan and MRI services in 14 district hospitals across the state have been disrupted and said it was baseless. Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao ordered an assessment of the reports and sought action.
The department stated in a release that funds for CT and MRI services, amounting to Rs 63.49 crore, are available, and there is no shortage fund within the department. There are three organizations that provide these services in the state. Action will be taken to recover pending bills soon after Krishna Diagnostics provides additional information regarding department-sought information, causing a delay in June and July payments. Other organizations’ bills have been cleared, the department said.
