NIA special court holds 3 IM operatives, including homeopath, guilty in terror case

BENGALURU: A special NIA court has found three Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives, including a homeopathy doctor from Bhaktal in Uttara Kannada district, guilty of attempting to carry out a terror act in Bengaluru. The court will announce the quantum of punishment for the three accused today.
The accused, Dr Syed Ismail, Sadda Hussain and Abdul were arrested in Pulakeshi Nagar and Bhatkal on January 9, 2015, in connection with the December 30, 2014, Church Street blast in which a Tamil Nadu woman was killed. The accused had provided a gelatin stick to the perpetrators of the Church Street blast.

The NIA had also foiled a plot by the accused to carry out a blast during the visit of former US President Barack Obama to India on January 26, 2015.
