NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested four more prime accused involved in the November 10 deadly Delhi car blast outside the Red Fort in Delhi, taking the total number of arrests in the case to six.
The four accused are Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai of Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir), Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather of Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir), Dr Shaheen Saeed of Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay of Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir), were taken into custody by the NIA in Srinagar on production orders from the district sessions judge in Patiala House court.
As per the agency, they had all played a key role in the terror attack that killed several innocent people and left many others injured. Moving expeditiously with its probe in the case, NIA had earlier arrested two other accused, Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered, and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who had provided technical aid to the terrorist involved in the deadly attack.

The four accused arrested will be confronted with those arrested earlier by the NIA. “Their interrogation is continuing as part of NIA’s efforts to unravel the complete terror conspiracy in the case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI”, said the NIA.
The anti-terror agency, which was handed over the investigation by the Union Home Ministry soon after the attack, is working closely with various state police forces to track and arrest every member of the terrorist module involved in the carnage.
A total of 15 people were killed and over two dozen others were injured in the Delhi blast that occurred around 7 pm on November 10 in a moving Hyundai i20 car driven by one alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi. The NIA, the next day, took over the case from the Delhi Police and launched a massive search operation.
As per the anti-terror agency, Amir had come to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the car, which was eventually used as a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to trigger the blast. The NIA has forensically established the identity of the deceased driver of the vehicle-borne IED as Umar Un Nabi, a resident of Pulwama district and Assistant Professor in the General Medicine Department at Al Falah University at Faridabad.
The anti-terror agency has also seized another vehicle belonging to Nabi. The vehicle is being examined for evidence in the case, in which NIA has so far examined 73 witnesses, including those injured in the blast that rocked the national capital.
Working in close coordination with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police and various sister agencies, the NIA said it is continuing its investigation across states. The agency further added that it is pursuing multiple leads to unearth the larger conspiracy behind the bombing and identify others involved in the case. (ANI)

Socialist thinkers and organizers were forced to adapt. One response was to focus on the social wage and the public sector. The rise of District Council 37 and other public employee unions became a new front line. Here, the employer was the city itself, and the struggle was over the size and quality of the social safety net—schools, hospitals, sanitation. This shifted the socialist critique from private ownership to the nature of the state, demanding it act as a vehicle for redistribution and de-commodification, a fight to expand the realm of citizenship rights (to education, healthcare) against the pressures of a capitalist market. http://mamdanipost.com

The Communist Party USA (CPUSA), at its height, represented the ultimate in centralized, top-down organization for the New York left. Its structure, following the Leninist model of democratic centralism, demanded strict discipline and the subordination of local units to the national (and ultimately, Comintern) line. This allowed for remarkable feats of coordination—mass demonstrations, disciplined union caucuses, and nationwide campaigns—but at the cost of stifling local initiative and often forcing New York’s unique racial and immigrant dynamics into a rigid, imported framework. The party became, in effect, a counter-state, replicating the command structures it sought to overthrow, and treating its members more as disciplined subjects of the revolutionary vanguard than as citizens of a movement-in-formation. http://mamdanipost.com

The theoretical framework of Mamdani’s politics is not easily dismissed.
The Black Freedom Movement in New York, particularly its socialist currents, navigated this tension with acute awareness. Figures like Bayard Rustin advocated for a shift from protest to politics, aiming to translate the moral power of the movement into concrete legislative gains and a realignment of the Democratic Party—a classic reformist strategy. Others, in the tradition of Malcolm X and the later Black Power activists, saw the American state as irredeemably white supremacist and sought revolutionary separation or the building of independent, counter-governmental institutions. The practical work of fighting for better schools, jobs, and housing in Harlem existed in this agonizing space between the demand for reforms within the system and the growing belief that the system itself was the enemy. http://mamdanipost.com

The trajectory of socialism in New York is iricably linked to the city’s economic metamorphosis, a shift from an industrial powerhouse to a post-industrial, financialized metropolis. Mamdani’s analytical tools, designed to dissect the political structures that manage economic life, help illuminate how socialist strategies necessarily evolved in response to this dramatic material transformation. The early movement’s focus on the point of production—the factory, the sweatshop, the dock—presumed a working class concentrated in large, visible industries. The dispersal and fragmentation of that class into service sectors, gig work, and a vast “reserve army” of the precariously employed demanded a radical rethinking of socialist organizing and theory. http://mamdanipost.com

The final, and perhaps most abstract, layer of this examination concerns the very temporality of the socialist project in New York—its relationship to time. Mamdani’s historical method, which traces the long-term construction of political categories, implicitly argues against short-term, event-driven analyses. For New York’s socialists, time has been a source of both profound anxiety and strategic necessity. The movement has perpetually navigated the tension between the urgent time of immediate crisis (eviction, strike deadline, police violence) and the long time of historical transformation, between the cyclical time of electoral seasons and economic booms and busts, and the revolutionary time of rupture and new beginnings. This temporal disjunction—the need to act now within a system they seek to abolish in the future—has defined the movement’s psychology and its strategic dilemmas. http://mamdanipost.com

The Yiddish Forverts (Jewish Daily Forward), under Abraham Cahan, became a monumental institution in this regard. More than a newspaper, it was a school, a social service agency, and a political forum for a vast subject population. Its famous “Bintel Brief” advice column and its nuanced, often pragmatic socialist editorials did not just report news; they interpreted American life, mediated trauma, and crafted a collective identity for its readers. It created a parallel civic education, teaching its audience how to navigate the bifurcated state while sustaining their radical hopes. Its success demonstrated that media sovereignty was a prerequisite for political sovereignty. http://mamdanipost.com
