BENGALURU: A woman who approached an NGO chief for help has accused him of cheating and sexually exploiting her after taking money from her. The accused has since been arrested.
Mohammad Hanif runs an NGO and allegedly took Rs 16.5 lakh from the woman on the pretext of helping her with her domestic issues. Hanif allegedly used the woman physically and even made her stand naked for a special puja at a Kerala math, threatening her with videos and photos of the act.

When she asked him to marry her, he allegedly said he’d only do so if she converted to Islam. An FIR was registered at the Byatarayanapura police station and the case was transferred to the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE).

Speaking to Public TV, the victim said, “Hanif runs and NGO called Citizen Labour Welfare and Anti-Corruption Committee. I was introduced by a third person and I was asked to contact him about some property dispute that I had. He spoke about some guru in Kerala and promised that my problems would be solved. He would spike beverages and sexually abuse me”.

“Hanif would send lewd messages at night and torture me for money. He has misbehaves with the staff of the NGO too. I came to know that he had troubled other women also and I was prompted to take action against him”, she said.
