BENGALURU: A newlywed woman, Ganavi (26), who attempted suicide after returning from honeymoon midway and was hospitalised after she attempted suicide at her husband’s house, has died due to not responding to treatment. The deceased newlywed has been identified as Ganavi (26). She committed suicide less than two months after her marriage.
Ganavi and Suraj got married on October 29 and had a grand reception at Palace Grounds. They went to Sri Lanka 10 days ago but returned abruptly on Sunday midway, without completing their honeymoon.
Following a quarrel, Ganavi’s family brought her home on Monday. She attempted suicide on Wednesday, December 23, was hospitalised, and was declared brain dead. She died on Thursday, December 25.
Ganavi’s family has filed a complaint against Suraj’s family at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station, alleging dowry harassment and abetment to suicide. The police plant to question Suraj’s family in connection with the case.
