BENGALURU: A newborn baby girl, with blood still smeared, was found abandoned on 5th Cross, Weavers’ Colony, on Bannerghatta Road early on Saturday.
Around 5.45 am, locals heard cries of the infant and rushed there. Choodamani, a resident of Weavers’ Colony, took the infant home and bathed it clean. Meanwhile, the police arrived on the scene and took custody of the baby, rejecting her repeated pleas to keep it.
It is suspected that either a minor or a woman out of wedlock delivered the baby and abandoned it on the road. The Konanakunte police have taken custody of the newborn and further investigations are on.
