BENGALURU: A new market with 40 shops is set to be inaugurated at Cox Town in Pulakeshinagar Assembly constituency. Traders and residents expressed happiness about the new market, especially since this is very convenient for people living in the Pulakeshinagar constituency, as there were no other markets in the area.
The BBMP has constructed a massive market complex near Cox Town, which will have 42 shops. The market is well-equipped and ready for business.
Previously, traders had to operate in the midst of traffic congestion, but now they’re excited to have a dedicated market space. However, some traders are concerned that politics might play a role in the allocation of shops. They are demanding that priority be given to those who have been trading in the area for years.
The market is expected to be inaugurated by the end of December, and people are eagerly looking forward to it. Earlier, people were used to travel to Shivajinagar for the market.
A vegetable vendor, Rajeshwari, said, “It would be very helpful for us if Cox Town market opened. We are suffering without a proper market place. Although the construction of the complex was completed a year ago, it has not been inaugurated. We are now selling vegetables on the roadside. We wish the new market opens soon”.
A customer said, “The new market is very useful to avoid traffic congestion. There is no other marketplace nearby, so we used to go to Shivajinagar. Let it open first, and we are waiting for it”.
