MYSURU: Janata Dal-Secular patriarch H D Deve Gowda on Sunday said that some political parties are trying to woo voters with the use of colourful language and added that it wouldn’t last for long.

“We never influenced voters or fooled people with such tricks”, he said.
He was speaking at the valedictory ceremony of ‘Pancharatna’ yathra at Uttanahalli in the district on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Deve Gowda said, “It’s the people and the party workers who made me what I am in politics. I was worried about my health, but today I am here before you because of the blessings from all. I am a part of God’s game and people are a part of my strength”.
“Kumaraswamy carried out the yatra across the state amid his own health issues. I never deceived anyone in my political life and I have helped people on my own. I am not chanting about dynastic politics, but about development and the welfare of people. I taught the same to my children. I told them not to seek votes on the basis of caste or religion”, said Deve Gowda.
“I am the son of a farmer and I know the difficulties. All who have gathered here belong to the working class. People are aware of the truth of present-day politics”, he added.
Deve Gowda further said, “I have instructed our patry leaders to seek votes only on the development issue. I have worked for farmers’ rights and even for farmers in Punjab. I have worked hard for the Cauvery, Krishna and other projects. I never stoop low to get publicity by showing others’ achievement as my achievement. I worked hard without expecting results. I never harmed anyone and never showed disrespect to the state”.
Deve Gowda urged the people to keep believing in his party and vote for JD(S).
“I am proud to be born in the land of Sir M Visvesvaraya, Kanakadasa, Kempegowda, Kuvempu, Purandasara and Tipu Sultan and I have satisfaction in my service”, Gowda concluded.
Speaking on the occasion, former CM H D Kumaraswamy said, “After six months, H D Deve Gowda has come to participate in the ceremony. I have been fighting for the party without bothering about my health conditions. Deve Gowda worked hard for the upliftment of the poor and Dalits. The time from supporters is the biggest gift to me. I have prayed to Goddess Chamundeshwari to give strength to Deve Gowda to guide us. My goal is to build the future of the state and to bring JD(S) power in the state”.
Kumaraswamy addressed the gathering at the valedictory of the “Pancharatna’ yathra.
“In the last 90 days, I met many people and listened to their needs. The main objective of the Pancharatna Yatra is to provide free treatment to all in the state. The Chamarajanagar incident during Covid-19 is before us. Many people in the state are suffering from various diseases and my goal is that all facilities, including kidney dialysis, should be made available to rural people. During the coalition government, I worked for farmer loan waiver. If I come to power, I will give credit to the farmers”, he said.
