Nepali man murders live-in partner over suspicion that she had an affair

BENGALURU: A Nepali citizen brutally murdered his live-in partner after an argument, at TC Palya in Ramamurthy Nagar in the city on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Krishnakumari (23) and the accused in Santosh Dhami (27).

Krishnakumari was working in a unisex salon on Horamavu while Santosh was working in a men’s salon in TC Palya. The two fell in love and were living together in a rented accommodation in TC Palya. The two had come to Bengaluru about two years ago and were living together for the last one year..

In the wee hours on Wednesday, the two had a major argument over some issue and, in a fit of rage, Santosh killed Krishnakumari.

Deputy Commissoner of Police Bhimashankar Guled said, “Krishnakumari had called a friend on Tuesday night and told her that Santosh suspected that she (Krishnakumari) was in a relationship with somebody else and would kill her. A little while later, Krishnakumari again made a video call and the friend saw her being beaten up. By the time she and two other reached Krishnakumari’s house, she was dead.”

The DCP added, “The police received a call around 1.30 am from a hospital about the body and a murder case has been registered. We have arrested Santosh based on a complaint from her friend. Santosh has claimed that Krishnakumari was always on the phone and he suspected that she had an affair with someone else. We will trace the family of the deceased and inform them”.
