BENGALURU: A Nepalese couple stole around Rs 1 crore worth of gold and silver jewellery from a businessman’s house in Jayanagar when the family had gone to Prayagraj. The couple worked as domestic help for the businessman, Prashant.
The housekeepers Rabindra Shahi and his wife Shilpa allegedlly stole the gold and silver from their owner’s house.
On February 22, Prashant and his family went to Prayagraj, and when they returned on February 25, they discovered that the gold and silver jewellery was missing. They immediately filed a complaint with the Jayanagar police and an FIR has been registered.
The police checked over 450 CCTV cameras in the area and found footage of the couple escaping with the stolen goods. However, the couple is still at large. The police are still searching for the couple and are investigating their escape route from the Majestic bus station.
