BENGALURU: The Karnataka Milk Federation’s (KMF) Nandini brand of products may soon be available on Vande Bharat train if the cooperative body’s plans come through.

The KMF plans to present a proposal to the railway authorities on making Nandini products like pedha, lassi, buttermilk and chilled flavoured milk available on Vande Bharat trains. If the plan works out, Nandini will be the first such product line to be available on the semi high-speed trains.

If all goes well, Nandini products may be available on Vande Bharat trains.

Every day, about 75-85 lakh litres of milk is produced in the state of which 8-9 lakh litres goes towards production of different milk products. The KMF is considering increasing production of milk products using 9-11 lakh litres of milk to meet the demand and expand its market. Currently, it is facing a shortage of about 20 per cent in milk supply but it hopes to overcome that soon.
