Namma Metro plans to introduce driverless trains on the yellow line.

BENGALURU: The city is all set to get its first driverless Metro train next month, which will ply on the yellow line between RV Road an Bommasandra.

It is expected that two train sets of 12 coaches each will arrive in the city in October. The yellow line will connect Electronics City important IT companies like Infosys and biotech major Biocon.

Namma Metro has decided to introduce driverless trains on the yellow line and China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation has bagged the tender for supply of the first two trains while the remaining will be produced by Titagarh Rail India Company.

Officials of BMRL have already left for China for the factory acceptance test and once this is done, the train sets will arrive at the Chennai port from China.
