Mysuru Dasara tickets, Gold Cards sell like hot cakes

MYSURU: Ticket sales, including the Gold Card, for the Dasara procession, or Jamboo Savari, and the torchlight parade opened today at 10 am and were sold out within a few minutes. The tickets were sold online through https://www.mysoredasara.gov.in/ and were priced much higher than last time, but that did not stop people from mopping up the tickets.

The Gold Card has been priced at Rs 6,000 each and each person can buy only two of them. The tickets for the palace entry for the Dasara procession are priced at Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 while the tickets for the torchlight parade, which is held at the Bannimantap Grounds, costs Rs 500. The palace entry tickets were earlier priced at Rs 1,000 each.

The two-day children’s Dasara was inaugurated at Jaganmohan Art Gallery on Wednesday.

Each Gold Card assures seat for one person for the Dasara procession, and the torchlight parade, free entry to Mysuru palace, Mysuru zoo, Jaganmohan Art Gallery, Karanji Lake Nature Park, Rail Museum, Regional Musem of Natural History, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, KRS-Brindavan Gardens, Chamundi temple (VIP darshan), St Philomena’s Church and Dasara Exhibition.

The palace entry tickets are priced at Rs 2,000 for Enclosure I and H and Rs 3,000 for Enclosure E. The torchlight parade tickets cost Rs 500 each for Enclosures G, H, K and M.

Meanwhile, the children’s Dasara is being held for two days at the Jaganmohan Art Gallery wherein handicrafts, literary, cultural, scientific, educational and technical exhibits are on display. The centre of attraction were displays on Chandrayaan-3, Aditya L1 and the solar system. The children themselves were explaining about the models to visitors. Women also took part in rural sports competitions like grinding ragi and pounding paddy at the JK Grounds.
