MANGALURU: In yet another instance of moral policing, this time in Kukke Subrahmanya, a Muslim youth was badly thrashed for moving around with a Hindu girl.
Afeed, resident of Kallgundi in Sullia, was walking with the Hindu girl near the Subrahmanya bus stop when a group of youths accosted him, took him to an isolated place near the Kumaradhara river and badly thrashed him.
The youth has been admitted to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. Based on his complaint, the police have registered a case.
Meanwhile, the minor girl’s father too has lodged a complaint against the youth and the Subrahmanya police have registered a case against him under the POCSO Act.
