DAVANAGERE: Devotees of Murugha Mutt performed special puja at the Hanuman Dhyan Mandir at Shivakumar Swamy Layout here on Friday. The mutt seer is in judicial custody following his arrest in a POCSO case.
According to devotees, Shivamurthy Muruga Sharanaru has been instrumental in propagating Sharana culture. They hope that he will be cleared of all charges and released soon.
The devotees offered prayers to a Shiva Linga and a portrait of the seer. The special puja was conducted under the guidance of Basavaraj guruji. They said that they hope to see Shivamurthy Sharanaru back at the helm of the influential Lingayat mutt again.
