VIJAYAPUR: A municipal corporator’s husband was shot dead by some unidentified people in broad daylight in Chandapur Colony on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as history-sheeter Hyder Nadaf, who is the husband of municipal corporator Nishat Hyder Nadaf, representing Ward No. 19 in Vijayapura. The assailants fired six rounds at Nadaf when he was travelling in his car along with his wife, and he died on the spot.
In a video doing the rounds, the attackers, on one motorcycle and two cars, are seen making good their escape immediately after the attack.
The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Jalanagar police station. Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar visited the spot. The police are lookout for the accused.
