BENGALURU: Mukesh Tyagi, DIG, assumed charge of IG (designated) at CEDCO BSF, Bengaluru, and STC BSF, Bengaluru, on August 9.
An officer of the 1989 direct entry AC (DE) batch, Tyagi has an MSc Physics degree in Electronics with and PG diploma in Human Resources. He carries exemplary professional skills and was instrumental in providing uninterrupted communication in Kashmir valley during peak militancy period. Considering his exemplary professional skills and acumen, especially his managerial skills, he was handpicked as Staff Officer in leading the UN mission at Kosovo, a press release said.
He has been conferred with the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2015 and awarded many Directors General Commendation Rolls. The officer has vast experience of serving on IB and as Staff Officer as well as head of premier training institutions of the BSF, the release said.
Tyagi was director/principal of Rustamji Institute of Technology, the only Engineering and Technology Institute of CAPF, for more than four years. With his vast experience in various fields, the training institution will be benefited with his new initiatives and innovations, the release added.
