CHIKKAMAGALURU: Karnataka Energy Minister KJ George on Monday accused the opposition party of making baseless allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah regarding land allocation in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

He further said that despite the Chief Minister’s clarification with supporting documents through a press conference, the opposition continues to distort the facts.

George said, “The opposition alleges that the allotment of land to the Chief Minister’s wife in a 50:50 ratio is illegal. But it was the BJP government that made this decision. Now, they are accusing the Chief Minister without any truth in their claims. During the Valmiki Corporation scam discussions, the opposition made false accusations against the government and then played politics without giving CM a chance to respond. In the case of MUDA, the Chief Minister has clarified everything through a press conference with supporting documents. There is no injustice in our government.”

George emphasized, “There is no record of allegations against the Chief Minister. The opposition is trying to turn their lies into truth. I am raising this issue so that the media can shed light on the truth. Previously, I was accused in the case of IAS officer D.K. Ravi’s suicide. However, a CBI investigation cleared me, stating I was not involved. Unfortunately, the media did not report this. This should not happen in the Chief Minister’s case either.”

Urging media to present the truth to the people, George further stated, “It is the media’s responsibility to criticize politicians when they are wrong and to support them when they do good work.”

MLA H.D. Thammaiah, Mr. Nayaz Ahmed, Chairman, Chikkamagalur Urban Development Authority, Ms. Meena Nagaraj, Deputy Commissioner, Chikkamagalur, Dr. Vikram Amate, District Superintendent of Police, H.S. Keerthana, Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, Padmavathi, Managing Director, MESCOM, and P. Rajesh, President, District Journalists Association attended the program. (ANI)
