MYSURU: Social activist Snehamayi Krishna, who has filed a case regarding the allotment of 14 sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, has claimed that someone claiming to be the personal assistant of the CM’s wife tried to bribe him.
Krishna claimed that he was asked to withdraw the petition seeking a CBI probe into the allotment of sites by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). He claimed that pressure was brought upon him from the CM’s wife and son when he did not agree to withdraw the petition.
Snehamayi Krishna said a local BJP leader, Harsha, who claims to be the personal assistant of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi BM, had approached him through a local journalist Srinidhi. He said has lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta police against the BJP leader and journalist along with CCTV footage and phone numbers.
The activist said Harsha and Srinidhi met him near the MUDA office on December 13 and told him that the CM’s wife was mentally stressed. “They asked me to withdraw the plea seeking CBI probe into the allotment of sites. They said that the Lokayukta case was not an issue, but it would create problems if the CBI gets involved”, he said.
“Harsha claimed to have struck a deal for Rs 3 crore with another activist and said Rs 1.5 crore had already been paid. He showed me a bag containing money when he came near our house on December 15. He offered to give me how much ever money I asked for. I discussed the issue with my son and he too didn’t agree to it”, Snehamayi Krishna said in his complaint.
