Mr BRT, elephant with unique tusks, found dead in Yelandur forest range

CHAMARAJANAGAR: An elephant with intertwined tusks, popular as ‘Mr BRT’ was found dead in the Biligiri Ranganathaswamy Temple (BRT) tiger reserve on Monday evening.

The elephant is believed to have died a few days ago and its carcass was found at Veeranakanu in the Kaditala Katte beat in Yelandur range. Officials said the elephant died of natural causes and sent its samples for post-mortem examination.

The was often spotted at human habitations at BR Hills and had been driven out by the Forest Department recently.
