Motorcycle riders have close call with lone tusker in Bandipur forest

The tusker suddenly charged towards the motorcycle riders.

MYSURU: Two motorcycle riders escaped death by a whisker on the Mananthavady-Mysuru road in Bandipur tiger reserve under the HD Kote range when they were suddenly chased by lone tusker. Luckily, the managed to run to a truck and hopped in.

Though it is not clear when the incident occurred, a video of the encounter is doing the rounds on social media and messaging platforms. Two men on the motorcycle (KL 57 9064) encountered the tusker and as soon as it came charging towards them, the pillion rider, who was shooting a video, ran a few metres behind.

The rider of the motorcycle tries to turn around, but the vehicle falls and he can be seen standing frozen for a moment. Luckily, continuous honking by the truck driver and other vehicles prompted the animal to turn away. The rider then quickly runs back to the truck and gets into the driver’s cabin. Several people hailed the truck driver for his quick thinking and saving the lives of the youths.
