Youths perform stunts on roads for social media reels.

HUBBALLI: Youths with high-end motorcycles in the twin cities are going around harassing young women and the general public by pulling up close to them and revving up, performing other stunts and breaking traffic rules, all for social media reels.

While the reels going viral, young women face harassment while walking on the streets even in broad daylight. An Instagram user, with the identity of ‘Black Desire’ and handle @anandkumar_official_7008 has been regularly shooting and posting such videos on social media.

While Anandkumar goes around performing stunts on his motorcycle which does not even have registration plates, his accomplices who are tailing him shoot the videos. Several other motorcycle riders too perform stunts, even in the night along the Chigari bus lane, but the police have been unable to crack down on the miscreants.

After the report was broadcast on Public TV, within 30 minutes, East traffic police station inspector J R D’Souza and team nabbed a motorcycle rider and seized his vehicle. The arrested was identified as Sachin, an employee with a private firm and a resident of Gopanakoppa.
