CHIKKABALLAPUR: A motorcycle rider, who cut across the highway near Rameshwara Gate in Doddaballapur taluk, died after he was knocked down by a speeding car on Monday. The accident occurred on the highway between Dobbspet and Doddaballapur.
In CCTV footage, the motorcycle rider can be seen cutting across the highway at a break in the median when he is knocked down by the speeding car. The rider first comes up the wrong carriageway, cuts across the highway at media break and attempts to cross over to the other side even as he sees the oncoming car.
The deceased was identified as Malappa (80) of Naranahalli village. A case has been registered at the Doddabelavangala police station.
