The motorcycle rider fleeing even as the petrol pump cashier tries to give a chase.

CHIKKODI: In an unusual incident, a motorcycle rider filled petrol worth Rs 1,000 at a petrol pump and fled without paying for it. The incident occurred at an Indian Oil petrol station at Shiraguppi village in Belagavi district.

In CCTV footage available, a rider wearing a P cap approaches the pump and fills petrol. When the attendant to put the dispensing gun back in its place, the motorcycle rider moves ahead and suddenly speeds up.

The cashier tries to grab hold of the motorcycle rider’s arm, but he manages to free himself and escapes. The cashier can be seen trying to hit the motorcycle rider with his cash bag, but the rider, who initially loses balance, manages to flee.

Attendants at petrol bunks say they come from poor families and are out to make a living and that such instances have frustrated them.
