BENGALURU: A woman and her 8-year-old son were killed when a college bus ran over them while they were crossing a road in Viveknagar area on Monday morning. The mother, 37-year-old Sangeetha, was taking her son, Parth, to school when the accident occurred.
The bus driver, identified as Sunil, fled the scene after the accident. Sangeetha, an assistant at the Army Public School, and her son were walking to school when the accident occurred around 6.30 am. The police are on the lookout for the college bus driver, who is currently absconding.
The bodies have been sent to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital for post-mortem examination. Sangeetha’s husband Prasad is a farmer in Andhra Pradesh, and the couple had two children studying in Bengaluru.
