RAICHUR: A mother-son duo drowned and died after drowning in a lake. The woman slipped while trying to save her five-year-old son, who had fallen into the lake in Maliyabad village of Raichur district. The deceased have been identified as Radhamma (32) and her son K Sanju (5).
The incident occurred on Monday morning when Radhamma had gone to the lake to wash clothes. Sanju,who had accompanied her, slipped and fell into the lake. In an attempt to rescue her son, Radhamma also jumped into the lake, but unfortunately, both drowned and died.
Locals rushed to their rescue, but the mother-son duo could not be saved. The family members of the deceased are in a state of shock and grief. The incident has occurred under the jurisdiction of the Yaragera police station.
