MADIKERI: Controversial actor and activist Chetan ‘Ahimsa’, reacting to the exit polls which came out on Saturday, has said that the NDA will come to power with more than 370 seats and that Narendra Modi will be Prime Minister for a third term.
Speaking to the media in Madikeri on Monday, he felt that Modi’s brand may have taken a hit as many people may have questioned the PM, and fights may also have increased. But, as per the exit poll data, the NDA will come to power and Modi will definitely come back to power, he said.
“If you look at the post-election surveys, all are the same and there is no confusion. Surveys are never wrong. It was said that the BJP would come in with a huge majority in the 2014 polls. This time also, the BJP will get more results than the 2019 election, and the NDA will get 350+ seats”, Chetan added.
Cheta, however, felt PM Modi’s brand image has taken a beating and Modi wave that was between 2014-2019 is no longer there. “However, the BJP will get a majority. Everyone has to wait till Tuesday”, he said.
“I don’t agree with the BJP’s ideologies, and I don’t agree with their CAA. The BJP’s ‘One Nation, One Election’ policy is not good for federalism. But I don’t believe that the BJP will alter the basic structure of the Constitution. There is a need to bring some amendments to the Constitution to bring equality, welfare of the poor, and secularism”, Chetan opined.
