BENGALURU: Bengaluru is witnessing a rise in phone snatching incidents by thieves who approach their targets from behind.
In one such incident, two unidentified bike-borne mobile thieves snatched a phone from a delivery agent when he was talking on the phone while riding his bike in HSR Layout and escaped.
The incident occurred on around 1 am September 27 on 29th Main Road, HSR Layout. The delivery agent fell off the bike as he lost control after the thieves snatched his mobile phone. Luckily, the delivery agent didn’t suffer any injuries as there was some distance between his bike and a car that was behind him. The entire incident was captured on the car’s dashcam.
Thieves are targeting the delivery agents while they are occupied on the phone. There is a need to create awareness among citizens, especially bike riders, to be cautious while using phones on the road, social media users pointed out.
