CHIKKABALLAPUR: Chikkaballapur MLA Pradeep Eshwar on Sunday visited the residence of Babu M, a contractual employee and driver at the Zilla Panchayat woh committed suicide recently , and offered condolences to the family.
Now the issue has taken a political turn. During his visit, MLA Pradeep Eshwar criticised BJP leaders and challenged MP Sudhakar to face action. The family members requested the MLA to provide government employment to Babu’s wife Shilpa, which he agreed to do.
He also promised to provide employment to Babu’s mother Kalamma on a contractual basis in a government office. He said that Babu’s brother Lokesh also has a heart-related problem and that he would help and provide him with work so that he can look after his health.
The MLA assured the family that he would expedite the compensation of Rs 8 lakh under the SC/ST atrocities case and also offered financial support to the family. To BJP leaders’ objection to MP Sudhakar’s name being included in the FIR, Pradeep Eshwar asked, “Instead of holding a press conference, why didn’t the BJP leaders come and wipe away the tears of Babu’s family?”
He challenged MP Sudhakar to seek a CBI investigation if he is innocent. Babu’s family members broke down in tears in front of the MLA, and his mother, Kalamma, clarified that they had filed the complaint based on the death note left behind by the deceased and that they had no relation with politics.
