DHARWAD: BJP MLA Arvind Bellad has stirred a hornet’s next after he and AAP leader and retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao attended a live Qawwali music show on Wednesday night and was spotted sitting next to history-sheeter Muktum.
Bellad had recently raised his voice against reservation for Muslim. He also demanded the government to cancel reservation for Muslims and Christians. Amidst this, he was seen participating in a live Qawwali music show by well-known Sufi singer Junaid Sultani, held at the Toll Naka area in Dharwad on Wednesday night.
The Qawwali singer even recited a shayari on MLA Bellad on the occasion.
Muslim leaders also felicitated both leaders at the event. Surprisingly, history-sheeter from Dharwad, Maktum Sogalad, performed arathi for Bhaskar Rao and MLA Bellad and showered money on them. The others at the gathering too joined him. Muktum also showered currency notes on the singer Sultani after listening to his performance.
A politician, a retired IPS officer and a history-sheeter sharing the same stage has set tongues wagging in political circles.
