Missing former MUDA commissioner Dinesh appears before ED officials

BENGALURU, MYSURU: Former Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Commissioner and IAS officer Dinesh Kumar, who went missing during an Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid, has finally appeared before ED officials for questioning.

Dinesh Kumar, who was previously in charge of MUDA, had gone missing on October 28 after ED officials raided his residence at Deepika Royal Apartment in Banaswadi. He had allegedly gone for a walk and never returned.

 The ED had issued summons to Kumar asking him to appear for questioning in connection with the MUDA scandal. He finally appeared before ED officials on Saturday evening and was questioned, thereby evading arrest.

G T Dinesh Kumar took charge as the Commissioner of Mysore Urban Development Authority in 2022. He was transferred without any posting after allegations of his involvement in illegal distribution of site under the 50:50 ratio scheme cropped up . Later, he was posted as registrar of Haveri University. As the issue of giving chancellor was heavily debated, the government finally canceled the order.
