BENGALURU: Unidentified miscreants set fire to four two-wheelers parked in front of a house in Sarakki, JP Nagar, in the wee hours of Wednesday. Unfortunately, the front facade of the house was also burnt and two pet birds also died in the fire.
The miscreants set fire to the two-wheelers parked in front of the house of one Bharathi around 2 am after pouring petrol on them and fled. On noticing the fire, the inmates of the house rushed outside, but by then, four two-wheelers had been gutted and the front facade of the two-storey house was also burnt. Other locals too rushed out and moved their vehicles to safety.
The intense blaze damaged the front wall, windows, a sewing machine and matresses in the house. The inmates managed to control the fire by pouring water. In the melee, two pet birds were also burnt to death.
Bharathi, who occupies the house, said, “It happened around 2 am and we don’t know who did this. We live in a rented house. We could not even come down and we were rescued by residents of the neighbouring building”.
“I rushed out on seeing the fire, but by then four vehicles had burned and I removed my vehicle. I then shouted out and the other residents also moved their vehicles. By then, the fire had become intense”, said Manjunath.
The JP Nagar police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation.
