Miscreants pelt stones at Chikkaballapur MLA’s home office, police looking for miscreants

CHIKKABALLAPUR: Unidentified miscreants pelted stones at the home office of Chikkaballapur MLA Pradeep Eshwar at Kandavara here on Tuesday night. The stone throwing occurred behind the house and left a huge window damaged.

On Wednesday morning, a police team, led by Deputy SP Shivakumar visited the house also checked CCTV footage wherein a few people could be seen moving suspiciously behind the house. Police Superintendent D L Nagesh too visited the MLA’s home office while a forensic team also collected evidence.

The incident occurred on a day the results of the Lok Sabha election were declared and BJP’s Dr K Sudhakar emerged victorious. The MLA’s supporters have urged the police to arrest the miscreants soon, failing which they have warned of protest.

Soon after getting elected as MLA, Pradeep Eshwar had taken the house on rent and this is the first such incident. “Around 11 pm, about 3-4 people came and threw stones at the house and broke a window. The police are checking the CCTV footage”, said Chetan, the MLA’s brother.

Munikrishna, a staffer at the home office, said, “I was in the room with two other staffers. When we were preparing to sleep, we heard the sound of the stone breaking the glass. We came out and saw some people running. Nothing like this had happened in the last one year”.

Chikkaballapur SP D L Nagesh told Public TV, “Last night, some unidentified people have thrown stones at the MLA’s home office and damaged a window. We have registered a case and taken up further investigation”.
