Unidentified miscreants have destroyed a lush nut plantation, belong to the farmer Adiveppa Aladakatti in Haveri

HAVERI: Unidentified miscreants chopped down 52 lush arecanut palms on a farmer’s land at Kusanur village in Hanagal taluk.

The incident came to light when the land owner Adiveppa Aladakatti  went to his farm and was shocked to see the arecanut plants cut and strewn on the ground. A video clip of the farmer grieving over the loss has now gone viral.

In a recorded video clip, the farmer claimed, “Some miscreants have destroyed the arecanut plantation on the occasion of Deepavali, when everybody was engaged in the celebration. I had cultivated the palms after taking a bank loan. What will I do with this now? Who will bear the loss?”, he questioned. He demanded justice and urged people to take action against miscreants.

A case has been registered at Adur police station.
