BELAGAVI: Six men allegedly gang-raped a 15-year-old girl twice in Kakati police station limits of Belagavi. The police have arrested two people so far and are on the lookout for the other accused.
The incident occurred six months ago when the girl was allegedly lured to go to a hill by a friend where she was gangraped and the act videographed. The culprits later blackmailed her with the video and gangraped her again, which too was videographed.
The accused have been blackmailing the girl, threatening to release the video. Based on a complaint, a case has been registered under the POCSO Act at the APMC police station. Two of the accused have been arrested so far and the police are searching for the others.
This incident comes just a week after another gangrape case was reported in the district, where five people, including two juveniles, were arrested for raping a girl at a resort.
