Minister Zameer Ahmed intervenes in favour of accused in business deal, audio clip goes viral

CHIKKABALLAPUR: An audio clip of Housing and Waqf Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan’s conversation with a police officer, where the minister is heard intervening in favour of the accused in a case related to a popcorn business deal, has now gone viral.

The case involves a complaint filed by a businessman from Chikkaballapur, Ramakrishna alias Jolada Kitti, who had sold popcorn worth Rs 1.89 crore to three businessmen from Hyderabad. Despite repeated requests, the accused failed to pay the amount, leading to a complaint being lodged at the Peresandra police station.

Peresandra police sub-inspector Jagadish Reddy had taken cognizance of the complaint and arrested one of the accused, Syed Akbar Pasha. However, Minister Zameer Ahmed allegedly intervened in favour of the accused, calling the PSI and requesting him to give more time to the accused to settle the issue.

In the audio clip, Minister Zameer Ahmed can heard telling the PSI, “Give them a chance, give them some time. They will pay the money.” The PSI is heard responding, “We have already given them time to settle the matter. If they don’t pay, we will take action”.

The audio clip has sparked controversy, with many questioning the minister’s interference in a legal matter. The businessman, Ramakrishna, has expressed disappointment over the minister’s actions, saying that he had expected fair treatment from the authorities.
