BENGALURU: Housing and Minority Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan appeared before the Lokayukta for investigation in a disproportionate assets case on Tuesday. Khan was summoned for the fourth time by the Lokayukta after he failed to appear for the investigation despite three notices.
The case was filed after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Khan’s house and found assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The Lokayukta had earlier asked Khan to submit some documents related to the case.
Speaking to the media later, the minister said he answered all the questions posed by the investigating officers and is ready to appear before the Lokayukta again if required. He had received a notice from the Deputy SP of Lokayukta police to appear in person on Tuesday in the illegal assets case.
This comes after an illegal assets case was filed following an ED investigation that has been ongoing for the past two years. The investigation is focusing on allegations of illegal acquisition of assets.
