Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar sustains injuries after car rams into roadside tree

The car hit a roadside tree when the driver attempted to avoid a dog on the road.

BELAGAVI: Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar suffered injuries on Tuesday morning after he car hit a tree in Belagavi district, her son Mrunal Hebbalkar said. She and Congress MLC Channaraj Hattiholi, who is her brother, escaped a major accident while sustaining minor injuries.

The minister was taken to a private hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid a dog on the road and hit a tree. The accident occurred around 6 am at Ambadgatti village near Kittur taluk.

Minister Hebbalkar sustained minor injuries on her back and face while Channaraj Hattiholi sustaineed a minor injury on the head. She is being treated at a private hospital in Belagavi.

The minister and the MLC were returning after attending the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting on Monday night. They were travelling to Bengaluru by road. (ANI)
