SHIVAMOGGA: Belagavi Rural Constituency MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar became a grandmother hours ahead of her swearing-in as Women and Child Development Minister on Saturday.
Laxmi Hebbalkar’s son Mrunal and daughter-in-law Dr Hita welcomed a baby girl at a private hospital in Shivamogga on Friday night. This comes as a double delight for the Congress leader.
Laxmi Hebbalkar is the lone woman minister in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet. She was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. She is also a first-time minister and was allotted the Women and Child Development, Disabled, Senior-citizens Empowerment portfolio on Saturday.
