BENGALURU: The Yellow Line of the Namma Meto is the most anticipated route in the city. But the BMRCL authorities have belied people’s expectations over and over again and they have been waiting for the last four to five years for this route that it will open someday.
Now, there is a delay in the arrival of the train sets for this route. The trains required for this line were manufactured by Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd under an agreement with CRRC, China. The first train set was launched on January 7, and it was said that one set of trains would arrive in Bengaluru by the end of January.
Testing will begin after the train arrives in the first week or mid-February and it will take about 20 days to a month to complete the process. This means that for those who were expecting this route to open by the end of March, there could be further delay in the yellow line becoming operational.
