BENGALURU: Namma Metro services on the Purple Line were disrupted for more than one hour during peak hours on Thursday due to a technical issue.

The issue started around 9.15 am when a train developed a technical problem between Vijayanagar and Hosahalli stations, causing it to stop midway. The train’s doors were stuck, and it couldn’t move, leading to a complete halt in Metro services on the Purple Line.

Passengers were stranded at various Metro stations, including Vijayanagar and Hosahalli, which were crowded during peak hours. The Metro authorities apologised for the inconvenience and informed passengers that services would be resumed as soon as possible.

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) issued a statement explaining that the technical issue was being addressed, and services would be normalised soon. After a prolonged delay, the Metro services were finally resumed around 10.15 am between Mysore Road and Whitefield. However, services between Mysore Road and Challaghatta were expected to resume by 11 am.

The incident caused significant disruptions to commuters, who were left stranded at Metro stations and had to wait for a long time. The metro authorities apologized for the inconvenience caused and assured passengers that they were working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
