BENGALURU: Namma Metro commuters can expect another hike in Metro fare next month. As per the Metro Rail Operation and Maintenance Act, 2002, fares must be increased annually.

The minimum hike is supposed to be 5 per cent, but the exact percentage for this year is still uncertain. The fare fixation committee will submit a proposal soon, and if approved, it could mean another blow for commuters.

Last time, a 71 per cent hike in 2025 sparked outrage, and now, another increase is looming. If it happens, Bengaluru’s metro riders will face another financial burden.
