BELAGAVI: The mastermind in the KPTCL junior assistant recruitment scam, who had been absconding ever since the malpractice was revealed, has been finally arrested.
Sanju Lakshman Bhandari, a native of Belagavi, was arrested from Gokak, with the assistance of the Bendigeri police in Hubballi. Bhandari was produced before a court in Gokak which remanded him to seven days in police custody.
Sanju Bhandari had provided candidates writing the test with bluetooth devices to engage in malpractice after taking money from them. With Sanju in the police net, the total number of arrests in the case has gone up to 13.
