BENGALURU: The Subramanyanagar police have arrested a man, who had entered the Geometry Brewery and Kitchen in Rajajinagar recently, wearing a mask, and reportedly armed with a pistol, to commit theft. The accused has been identified as Dilip Kumar who hails from Odisha.
Dilip Kumar was working at a hotel in JP Nagar and stayed in a rented room nearby. On May 12, he had entered Geometry Brewery wearing a mask, but a security guard had spotted him and alerted the owner, who, in turn, informed the police.
The security guard had claimed that the burglar was carrying a firearm. However, by the time the Subramanyanagar police arrived on the scene, Dilip Kumar had fled the scene. During questioning, Dilip told the police that he attempted the burglary to raise money for his younger sister’s wedding.
The police said no firearm was recovered from the accused. A case has been registered and the accused remanded to judicial custody.
