Masked man armed with pistol enters pub, flees after police arrive; Theft suspected

BENGALURU: A masked man entered the Geometry pub in Rajajinagar, armed with a pistol, but escaped when the police arrived. Police suspect that he may have come to commit a theft.

The Subramanya Nagar police visited the pub on receiving information about the trespasser from the pub management and tried to catch him, but he escaped through back door. Police used drones to search for him. The dog squad and a KSRP unit were also called in due to the emergency situation. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Division) Saidulu Adawath also visited the scene.

Despite a six-hour operation, police have not been able to gather any information about the suspect.

Saidulu Adawath said , “We have investigated the place, and the suspect has escaped. We looked for him for six hours and the dog squad was also involved. It is confirmed that the person is not inside the premises. He has escaped from another exit. He entered the pub wearing a mask, switched off the main power and disabled the CCTV cameras. The cash counter was found open and we suspect that he might have stolen some money. Currently, there is no cause for alarm. We will register a case and conduct a search after the pub owner files a complaint. We received a call at 5 am on the 112 emergency number and investigated the scene”.

Additional Commissioner of Police Vikas Kumar Vikash also inspected the pub premises.
