RAICHUR: The Sri Raghavendra Swami Math at Mantralaya has announced that it will donate Rs 25 lakh towards the armed forces. The announcement was made by math seer Subhudendra Theertha Swami on the occasion of his 13th pattabhisheka mahotsav (ascension).
Speaking after participating in a tulabhara ceremony conducted by devotees, the seer said peace has been disturbed in the country. “There is a cessation of military action now, but out soldiers have worked night and day, putting their lives on the line, to protect the country”.
He said the Union government is working steadfastly for the security and unity of the country. “In view of the prevailing situation, there will be no grand events at the math and only customary and daily rituals will be conducted for now”, the seer added.
