KOLAR: A man, who was brutally attacked, with his throat slit and dumped by the highway near Chunchadenalli in the taluk, was rescued by some motorists and the night patrol police early on Tuesday.

The victim, Nagesh told his rescuers that he was attacked by his wife Ashwini’s family member over some domestic dispute. He said the latter took him to drink, slit his throat and stabbed in the abdomen in an attempt to kill him. The night patrol police, who spotted him, immediately shifted him to a hospital.

Nagesh, hailing from Mallasandra village in Kolar taluk, had fallen in love with Ashwini of Vanarashi village and they got married seven years ago. The couple have a daughter, but they had separated as Nagesh allegedly used to harass his wife. Police sources also said that Nagesh himself would threaten to kill his wife.

Nagesh has however alleged that Ashwini’s mother Maheshwaramma and her uncle Narayanaswamy had attempted to eliminate him in order to get Ashwini married elsewhere, he claimed. The Kolar Rural police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
