Mandya villagers object to group offering prayers in shed, police deployed

MANDYA: Residents of Bharati Nagar in Mellahalli village of Maddur taluk took objection to a group of Muslims offering namaz at a private shed belonging to a resident of the village on Friday.

The group offered namaz at a shed belonging to Kareem, a resident of the village. However, the villagers claimed that people from outside the village had assembled in the shed without permission.

The building belongs to a resident of the village.

The villagers have lodged a complaint with the panchayat development officer (PDO) and Hindu groups have also raised objections. Following this, the police deployed personnel at the shed on Friday. The incident occurred in KM Doddi police limits.
